Tom Morgan has developed a football helmet liner with materials from Dynamic Systems Inc.  DSI’s founder the late Charles Yost, an aeronautical engineer for NASA in the 1960’s developed tempur-foam, a product they used for crash and vibration protection in the aircraft’s chair for the astronauts.  Tempur-foam now known as memory foam is among the materials Morgan used in his helmet design.  The foam absorbs the impact when the players hit their head.

Head injuries associated with the NFL have shown that players suffer from concussions and have had problems with cognitive function.  These helmets will not only help the NFL, but for college, high school and junior high athletes.  Rush Sport Medical Inc., in Mississippi has designed a helmet using Morgan’s liner and could be available by spring.
